Building Design + Construction notes SmartSpace is the first LEED-level classroom in the U.S.

April 1, 2007—Building Design + Construction reported today that the Triumph SmartSpace classroom installed at the Carroll School in Lincoln, MA, is the "first LEED-level unit to be installed in the U.S." The movable, green classroom design is "loaded with sustainable features" including sophisticated high-performance materials and seemingly "simple additions like a double door entry vestibule" that prohibits conditioned air from instantly leaking out as people come and go. The vestibule was one of the biggest factors in The Hickory Consortium's energy study which showed the Triumph SmartSpace "beat Massachusetts state energy code by 56% during testing," according to the interview with Mark Dolny, AIA, senior associate at ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge. ARC teamed with modular manufacturer, NRB, Inc., and Triumph Leasing to "rethink" approaches to modular classrooms.

Triumph SmartSpace is the newest product offered by Triumph, New England’s premier provider of custom designed temporary and permanent modular buildings.
