Parker Charter School Modular Classrooms

Parker Charter School incorporated used modular classrooms to build this expanded school within a limited budget.Relocated Used Modular Building

Location: Devens, Massachusetts
Square Footage: 26,000
Number of Modules: 32 modules
Completion Date: April 2008

The Parker Charter School sought the highest quality expansion within a limited budget. They learned of availability of an existing 32-piece modular school and located Triumph Modular. Triumph dismantled, relocated and reconstructed the used modular classrooms into the permanent home the client had envisioned, on time and within their budget.

The two-story project featured an elevator install, custom interior woodwork and lighting schemes, new exterior siding (from stucco and brick to a wood finish) and a site-built corridor architecturally designed as a gallery for student achievements.

Triumph provided construction management including site work, foundation, gas and electric, water, sewer, sprinklers, paving and site restoration. Crane set and installed in a harsh winter the job is an example of speed to occupancy, mitigation of site built weather related delays, and reduced overall disturbance critical to main school occupants during construction.

The amount of "embodied energy" saved by modular construction and re-use instead of a more traditional solution (demolition of the old - site built new), aside from saving the customer money, makes the Parker School Modular School Building one of Triumph's proudest achievements.
