Because the majority of the building construction is done in a factory environment construction waste, site disturbance, and vehicular traffic are all reduced. Modular buildings can be moved and reused if needed, so they are effectively "recycled" for different uses. And modular buildings are now made with recycled steel to produce structures that are strong, non-combustible and mold resistant because they are cellulose-free.
