Modular construction was chosen as a solution to a critical timeline and tight urban location in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The modules were transported and staged nearby and then lifted into place by a crane. After being set in place, specialty contractors connected utilities, installed an elevator and applied trim and final paint.
In the end, goals were achieved and MIT has nearly doubled their capacity to provide childcare for faculty, staff, and students. Now the small occupants of the David H. Koch Childcare Center now enjoy their days in this spectacular facility!
