New Bedford Public Schools solved urgent space needs at Elizabeth Carter Brooks Elementary with a six-unit, ≈4,000 sq ft permanent modular classroom addition. Delivered on E-coded permanent foundations, the new wing includes dedicated art rooms, in-classroom bathrooms, and modern finishes that match the existing brick building perfectly.
The Challenge
Rising enrollment demanded additional classrooms fast, but traditional construction would have taken 18–24 months and disrupted the school year. The district needed high-quality, code-compliant space on an accelerated timeline without sacrificing aesthetics or accessibility.
Solution: One-Day Classroom Installation
Site work began in November. By March, all six factory-built modules were craned in, set on permanent foundations, and fully connected in a single day. The finished addition opened for students with virtually zero learning interruption.
