Woods Hole Temporary Modular Ferry Terminal

The Steamship Authority partnered with Triumph Modular to build a temporary ferry terminal at their Woods Hole facility, which serves over 2 million ferry passengers annually between Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. Designed to support terminal operations during a six-year reconstruction, the modular building delivers permanent quality while remaining fully relocatable.

This 3,600-square-foot modular ferry terminal was completed in under six months from project conception. Though it was initially leased, the client ultimately opted to purchase the structure. Key interior features include a public waiting area, concessions, ticketing operations, restrooms, a kitchenette, and staff offices. Exterior walls were finished with Omni Composite Fiberglass Panels, overlaid with a custom vinyl wrap featuring nautical maps of the local region.

To withstand harsh coastal conditions, Triumph installed impact-resistant windows with tempered glass, pre-cut openings for brushed stainless steel deal trays, and custom bamboo and cedar decking. The project showcases the flexibility and design quality possible with modular construction—especially in high-traffic public transit environments.

Triumph Modular delivers high-quality modular buildings for schools, businesses, and public agencies across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest. Whether you’re expanding classroom space, adding a jobsite office, or planning a long-term facility, our modular solutions provide speed, flexibility, and code-compliant performance.
