Modular Expansion for Urban Charter School in Boston
Triumph Modular delivered a custom modular classroom addition for Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School in Boston, combining off-site construction with extensive site improvements. The project included a new 7,000-square-foot brick-sided modular classroom building, a site-built connecting link, and full fire alarm and sprinkler upgrades to the existing three-level school.
Modular construction was chosen to minimize disruption and meet the school’s timeline and budget. Eight modules measuring 12’ x 71’ were designed, manufactured off-site, and transported to the site for rapid installation. While 70% of the project was built off-site, Triumph simultaneously coordinated site work, including utility trenching, drainage improvements, and new paving across the lot.
On-site finishing included applying brick siding and installing efficient York rooftop HVAC units with SEER ratings of 15. The resulting modular classroom space met Boston city requirements and provided modern, code-compliant learning environments for students—delivered on time and on budget.
